What is impermanence?
Impermanence — that all conditioned things change — is a central theme in Buddhist practice. The sand mandala makes this visible: days of meticulous work are gathered and released in a single ceremony.
Visitors sometimes find the dissolution surprising or moving. It is not a performance of destruction, but a reminder that clinging less tightly to what cannot last may open room for compassion.
The monks invite you to sit with whatever you feel — curiosity, sadness, peace — without needing to name it.
