About the tour
An educational tour in collaboration with host communities — teaching peacemaking, reconciliation, forgiveness, and nonviolence to inspire peacemakers in every city.
Peacemaking on the road
The World Peace Tour is an educational offering — not entertainment — to teach peacemaking, reconciliation, forgiveness, and nonviolence. Programs weave sand mandala, Buddhist teachings, meditation, and dialogue to examine the inner causes of conflict: anger, fear, and ignorance.
Bodhicitta is the heart and cause of peace. The tour invites us to become peacemakers in an increasingly complex world.
A tour built with hosts
Each stop is shaped in collaboration with host institutions and their communities — not a performance delivered to a passive audience. Hosts welcome the public, help adapt the schedule, and join the work of inspiring people to be peacemakers.
The essential questions
- How can we be peacemakers in an increasingly complex world?
- How can we stay inspired?
Purpose: train peacemakers — each of us can make a difference.
Who brings this forward
Supported by Geshe Tashi Lama and the Lawa Khangtsen monastics, Lama Yeshe Jinpa (Lion's Roar Dharma Center), Prof. Thupten Tendhar (URI), senior students, and community friends.
A word on nonviolence
"Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that." — Martin Luther King Jr.
Dalai Lama
"World peace must develop from inner peace. Peace is not just mere absence of violence. Peace is, I think, the manifestation of human compassion." — His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama
